Ghana Field Visit

Faith Mukakalisa, MP, Rwanda. and People Living with HIV/Aids
A delegation of sixteen parliamentarians from Benin, Cameroon, Finland, India, Ireland, Kenya, Malaysia, Morocco, Nigeria, Senegal, Rwanda, Uganda, United Kingdom and Zambia visited Ghana, from July 24 to July 28, 2005.
The delegates had the opportunity to discuss with the major stakeholders involved in the PRSP process, including the Parliamentary Committee, the PNoWB-Ghana executive, as well as the Minister of Finance, the Head of the World Bank and international donors.
The visits to a HIV/AIDS program and to the Akwapim Rural Bank project illustrated projects’ ownership, in a country identified as exemplary, where the Poverty Reduction Strategy is a result of an effective consultation mechanism among the different stakeholders.
