In May 2006, the MENA Chapter convened a meeting in Rabat, in partnership with the Moroccan Parliament, Arab Region Parliamentarians against Corruption (ARPAC), USAID, SUNY Center for International Development, the Westminster Foundation for Democracy (WFD) and the World Bank. The conference brought together some 50 MPs from the region and focused on their role to fight corruption along with other topics such as budget oversight and conflict of interest legislation.  Members proposed to develop a joint initiative with ARPAC on Parliamentary Budget offices.
